We operate a 12.5% (plus VAT) sellers premium.
If you are considering selling something at our Auction we are happy to provide a verbal valuation free of charge. For smaller items, it is preferable for you to call into our office with the item but for larger items (such as furniture or for large quantities of items) the Auctioneer can arrange to visit you at home. If you wish the items to be valued before leaving them with us for sale, please telephone the Office to check the Auctioneer will be available when you bring them in.
When you enter an item for Auction you will be given a receipt and a copy of our Terms and Conditions of Sale. These are contractual terms and are legally binding.
The vendors terms and conditions set out our charges for selling items (our commission) together with details of our charges for insuring your items whilst in our possession. Where appropriate, we may photograph a lot for advertising purposes. Our charges for this are set out in the Conditions.
Items can be entered into an Auction up to three weeks before the date the Auction takes place.
Approximately one week before the Auction we will send you a copy of our sale catalogue together with a Pre-Sale Advice Form. This form gives you details of the lots and lot numbers of our items.
If you wish to place a reserve on any item (and have not already advised the Auctioneer of this) then you must enter your reserves on the form and return it to us before the sale date.
It is not necessary for you to attend the Auction although people often enjoy coming along to see their lots being sold. The catalogue will give details of the time we start selling each category in the sale and you can use this as a guide if you do wish to come along.
If you wish to find out whether your items have sold and the prices achieved, we suggest that you telephone our office on the Monday or Tuesday after the Auction. Please ensure that you have a list of your lot numbers available.
We are usually in a position to settle your account 2 to 3 weeks after the Auction has taken place. In addition to sending our cheque we will also provide a statement showing the price achieved for each lot together with details of our charges.
If you have an item which does not sell you can speak to the Auctioneer who will advise you whether to re-enter the item in a future sale (subject to any storage charge) or whether you should arrange to collect it.
